  FAQ'S

Before your Session

What are your Opening Hours?
Our office Opening Hours are:
Tuesday & Wednesday by Appointment Only
Thursday 1pm - 9pm
Friday & Saturday 9.30 - 5.30pm

How can I find the Studio?
Click the following link to Google Maps for directions

Is there car parking?
Yes, there is. There are parking bays outside the studio, if they are full, there is a car park
directly opposite at the B&M Supermarket, they do however lock the gates at 8.00

How many photos do you take and how long is a session?
We take a substantial amount images during the session
From those images around 30 are selected and prepared
for your slideshow for you to make your selection from.
The session lasts one hour - the memories last a lifetime...

GLASSES AND REFLECTIONS
If your glasses have anti reflection coating - then reflections are not usually a problem
If they dont have anti reflection coating - then you may get reflections in the glasses or you
can choose to remove them before the session.

What are the best clothes to wear for my session?
The clothes you choose are very important - they will have a significant impact
on how your finished portraits will look.

Do you have female photographers Femme Fetale and Cool White photosession?

Yes we do and its an all girl team that do these shoots.

For baby portraits - if your baby girl has a short dress on, her nappy will be visible on her
portraits, if you don't want the nappy to stand out in your portraits please try to coordinate
underclothes to match the dress.

Generally, smart casual clothing suits our style of photography best. The best colours
are black, white, blue & cream, which are classic colours and most people have
in their wardrobes.

Some examples of what to wear
Everyone wearing blue jeans with white shirts, white t-shirts or blouses
or
Black trousers with black tops or coordinating colours
or
Cream Chinos with blue tops.

Examples of what NOT to wear.
A family of four people - 3 have black trousers and black tops - and 1 has black trousers and white top,
this will spoil the look of the portrait as the person in the white shirt will stand out too much.

When you have chosen your outfits, lay them all out on the bed if one item of clothing
stands out, then that person will stand out in the photograph - so change it.
It is better to have solid colours rather than stripes and fussy motifs.

Will there be anywhere for us to change clothes?
Yes, we have a changing room for you - if you wish to bring your outfits with you to change into -
and they don't get creased on your travels.  We do not recommend that you change outfits during
your session, as you will find that possibly you like an expression or pose on a particular photograph,
but you prefer the other outfit.

Do you photograph NEWBORN BABIES?
Yes, we do but they must be no older than 10 days to get our newborn style photography.
We supply all the props for the shoot - so nothing for you to worry about.
The session can take quite a while, so if you have any other children please arrange for
someone to look after the children or make your appointment when they are at school.

When should I book my appointment for my newborn photo-shoot?
We advise that you let us know your due date and telephone number and we will contact
you on your due date to arrange an appointment. If your baby is born before the due date
please contact us as soon as possible to book your appointment, because the 10-day limit
still applies

Do you photograph dogs?

Yes we do photograph dogs, we have built up a reputation over many years for doing outstanding dog portraits.

Please take your dog for its walk before you come to the studio, as it tires them out and
settles them down a little bit, and makes it easier in the session.

Do you photograph show dogs?

No we dont photograph show dogs in their stances, the dog portraits are aimed at relaxed informal pet portraits.

What if someone is ill and I have to cancel?
If someone is ill we still require as much notice as possible. To reschedule for free 7 days notice is required.
If your shoot is a newborn - then we cant reschedule as the babies can only be photographed up to 10 days
old, but we can reschedule for a baby shoot, but they won't be in our newborn style.

Do you take passport/visa/ID photographs?
Yes, we do - we can photograph adults, children and babies.

We can provide you with passport/visa photographs for the UK and also any other nationalities
e.g. Canada USA Australia to their specifications
